Review: Holistic Green Beauty's MÅNGATA Baume de la Rose

**This post is an advertorial in collaboration with Holistic Green Beauty**

I previously raved about Holistic Green Beauty's Chocolate Cleansing Balm (review here) and Orchid Cellular Protection Oil (review here). As you can imagine, when the brand came out with their 100% organic MÅNGATA collection, I couldn't wait to try it!

Baume de la Rose is empowered with antioxidant rich botanicals and is infused with the essence of true Rose. Working with the power of nature, this opulent anti-aging balm works to restore the youthful appearance of skin with its pure, organic formula.

Review of Holistic Green Beauty's MÅNGATA Baume de la Rose

Description

This ultra-nourishing hydrating concentrate repairs, soothes, softens and protects. Its effective properties infuse the skin with moisture and enhance radiance. This balm is has the most luxuriously silky texture that really softens the skin and smooths out fine lines. Unlike balms and oils that can be a bit greasy and heavy, this product glides onto the skin and absorbs completely within about ten minutes.

In addition to its lush consistency, the rose scent is on point! It's natural and sensuous without being overwhelming. Not to mention, this balm is handcrafted with so many amazing ingredients! With an array of antioxidants and fatty acids, this balm truly soothes the skin. In particular, rose alba is an excellent emollient for dry, sensitive skin. In addition, prickly pear seed oil reduces the appearance of fine lines, helps prevent premature wrinkle formation, brightens dark under-eye circles, calms redness, helps relieve sunburn, and brightens and evens complexion. The vitamin E found in prickly pear seed oil is the highest of any plant oil on the market!

Holistic Green Beauty's MÅNGATA Baume de la Rose

Application

I've been using this balm at night and it is so calming just before going to sleep! I like to apply a pea-sized amount of product in gentle, circular motions after cleansing, toning, and using a serum. This allows the product to create an occlusive layer that locks in moisture and seals in everything I’ve applied beneath it. You may need to experiment to figure out the order of application that works best for you, but my dry skin loves this balm!

MÅNGATA Baume de la Rose

Ingredients

*Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, *Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, *Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter, *Opuntia Ficus-Indica (Prickly Pear) Seed Oil, *Camellia Oleifera (Camellia) Seed Oil, *Adansonia Digitata (Baobab) Seed Oil, *Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil, *Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, *Rosa Alba (White Rose) Flower Extract, *Calendula Officinalis (Marigold) Flower Extract, *Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract

Naturally occurring in organic essential oils: Citronellol, Geraniol, Eugenol

Wrap-up

The MÅNGATA Baume de la Rose is another win for Holistic Green Beauty! Much like HGB's Chocolate Cleansing Balm, this product is such an indulgent treat for my skin! The texture is lush and silky, yet it absorbs beautifully! I find that it plumps and balances my dry skin, and plays nicely with the other products in my skincare rotation. With its potent anti-aging ingredients that nourish from the inside out, your skin will thank you for using this gorgeous balm with its seriously addictive rose scent!

The MÅNGATA Baume de la Rose retails for $110 USD (1.0 fl. oz., 30 ml).

Review: Odacité's Black Mint Cleanser

**This post is an advertorial in collaboration with Odacité Skincare**

There is no shame in my skincare game thanks to Odacité! I use a variety of the brand's coveted Serum Concentrates on a daily basis and my skin has never looked better! The newest addition to Odacité's lineup of innovative products is a Black Mint Cleanser and, not surprisingly, it's amazing!

When it comes to cleansers, I search for nourishing products that don’t leave my skin feeling stripped of its natural oils (check out my post about sebum). I also don't like to feel like there is any sort of residue left behind. I swear by the Brilliantly Brightening Facial Scrub from Acure Organics and the Black Clay Facial Soap from Osmia Organics, but the Black Mint Cleanser has slipped seamlessly into my routine and is now my morning go-to.

Review of Odacité's Black Mint Cleanser

Description

This gel cleanser transforms into a purifying foam with the addition of water. I'm not usually a fan of gels, but of course, Odacité's formulation is just right. The Black Mint Cleanser is packed full of amazing ingredients that purify the skin, help prevent breakouts, and promote hydration. As I mentioned in my last post, activated charcoal is a magical thing! Not only will the charcoal in this cleanser help suck the buildup out of your pores, but the addition of Rhassoul clay will help soothe and nourish the skin. The peppermint oil in this product provides for an intense mintiness and astringency. Aiding in its pore shrinking power is tea tree oil. The cleanser is then balanced out with apple amino acid that lifts away dirt and oil without disrupting the skin’s balance.

New Black Mint Cleanser from Odacité Skincare

Ingredients

Water [Aqua], Algal Betaine [Capric/Lauric/Myristic/Oleic Amidopropyl Betaine], Decyl Glucoside, Lauryl/ Glucoside, Sodium Cocoyl Apple Amino Acids, Xanthan Gum, Activated Charcoal, Rhassoul Clay [Moroccan Lava Clay], Tea Tree Leaf Oil [Melaleuca Altemifolia], Peppermint Oil [Mentha Piperita], Rosemary Leaf Extract [Rosmarinus Officinalis*], Sunflower Seed Oil [Helianthus Annuus*], Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Glyceryl Caprylate, Glycerin, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate

*Organic Origin

Application

First, I dampen my skin with a bit of warm water. I then give the bottle a good shake before dispensing 1-2 pumps of gel into my hand. I then massage the gel over my face in upward, circular motions to create some lather. I finish up with a thorough rinse and follow with one of Odacité's Serum Concentrates (I'm currently loving Grapeseed+Grapefruit) and some moisturizer.

Odacité's Black Mint Cleanser

Wrap-up

This luxurious gel cleanser is a great addition to my skincare routine! The invigorating mint scent really wakes me up in the morning, but more importantly, this product leaves my skin with a fresh, beautiful glow. I also like the fact that it doesn't leave a residue behind, just silky, beautiful skin. While I would repurchase it in the future, this product is a little pricey ($39 for 3.38 oz / 100 ml). However, the quality of this cleanser is exceptional and its combination of nourishing ingredients provides for a deep cleanse that doesn't dry out the skin. It works wonderfully on my dehydrated skin, but it will leave people of all skin types with clear, smooth complexions!

Are you as addicted to Odacité as I am?

Review: the takesumi detox deodorant from Kaia Naturals

**This post is an advertorial in collaboration with Kaia Naturals**

There are more and more natural deodorants flooding the market these days, but finding the right formulation isn't always easy. Just because a deodorant is packed with amazing ingredients doesn't mean that it's going to agree with you or that it will fulfill your needs and expectations. In particular, there is a great debate regarding the inclusion of baking soda in natural deodorants. Many people rave about the benefits of baking soda for odor control, while others find that it irritates the skin.

Review of takesumi detox deodorant from Kaia Naturals

Since pit protection is personal, my favorite deodorants may not work for you. I previously recommended the Agent Nateur & Shiva Rose h o l i (R o s e) N4 Deodorant and it's still one of my go-tos. Another amazing option is the takesumi detox deodorant from Kaia Naturals. I adore the juicy bamboo gentle facial cleansing cloths from Kaia Naturals, so it's no surprise that their deodorant has made its way into my daily routine.

Also known as bamboo charcoal, takesumi is a form of activated charcoal used in traditional Japanese medicine to detox the body and control odor. How is charcoal activated and why is the activation process important? Well, activated charcoal is a form of carbon that has been processed at a very high temperature to increase its porosity. More pores equates to more surface area; in turn, more surface area means that there is more space for absorption and other chemical reactions to occur. Once activated, charcoal is basically like a magnet that magically draws out toxins and bacteria. It really is an incredibly versatile and potent ingredient with countless applications.

takesumi detox deodorant from Kaia Naturals

By drawing out odor-causing bacteria, the activated charcoal and fermented ingredients in the takesumi detox deodorant will eventually keep your body feeling and smelling fresh. Why did I say "eventually" you ask? With many natural deodorants, there is a detox process that has to occur, especially if you're making the switch from a mainstream antiperspirant for the first time. Antiperspirants typically contain aluminium salts and work by plugging sweat glands to prevent you from sweating. With natural deodorant, your underarms are free to breathe, so you may sweat more and experience some initial breakthrough odor. Check out the four stages of detox at Kaia Naturals's website for more information about what to expect. I've been using natural deodorant for a while now, so my body didn't go through a detox process when I tried the takesumi deodorant. However, when I first made the switch to a natural deodorant a few years ago, I recall emanating a funky essence for a while before acquiring the freshness that I was after. Exfoliating your underarms (dry brushing is great!) and using a little bit of apple cider vinegar can help expedite the detox process. Kaia Naturals also sells a deodorant booster bar that is meant to enhance the power of the takesumi deodorant. Also of note, while this charcoal-based deodorant looks gray, it goes on clear and doesn't leave any marks on clothing.

Lime mint takesumi detox deodorant from Kaia Naturals

Wrap-Up

If you're looking for a high quality, natural deodorant, the takesumi detox deodorant from Kaia Naturals is definitely worth a try! It's vegan, cruelty-free, 99% natural, and baking soda free! Not to mention, it's available in three scents: cold-pressed rose, juicy bamboo (citrus blend), and lime mint. Personally, I tried the lime mint version and think it is a great unisex scent! It is heavy on the mint with just a hint of citrus, so I find the aroma very bright and refreshing. The full-sized deodorants contain 65 g / 2.29 oz of product and retails for $22 USD. Kaia Naturals also sells travel-sized versions of the takesumi deodorants which are not only convenient if you're on-the-go, but also if you're interested in testing out multiple scents. These smaller offerings contain 14 g / 0.49 oz of product and retail for $10 USD.

Review: Josh Rosebrook's Cacao Antioxidant Mask

Josh Rosebrook's Cacao Antioxidant Mask has been the perfect treat for my skin this winter! Packed with naturally indulgent ingredients, such as cacao, almond oil, marula oil, baobab oil, rose petal, and marshmallow root, this mask is intended to detoxify, rejuvenate and clear skin through powerful antioxidant and phytonutrient plant synergies. Its rich cacao antioxidants help slow skin cell decline, assist in collagen production, and trigger circulation to increase elasticity, luminosity, and the skin’s natural healing ability. Not to mention, potent plant oils are included to nourish the skin and maintain hydration. The purity and effectiveness of this lush mask are second to none! You will love it and so will your glowing, hydrated skin!

Review of Josh Rosebrook's Cacao Antioxidant Mask

Description

This mask has a thick, fudge-like texture that feels smooth and velvety on the skin. Upon application, you will notice a slight warming effect that really helps improve blood circulation. With so much cacao, as well as witch hazel and vinegar for their astringent properties, I was worried that this mask might dry out my skin. However, I haven't had any issues at all! In fact, this mask leaves my skin ridiculously silky and hydrated! I've also noticed that it really does a number on clogged pores, which is always a plus! The scent is herbaceous, warm, and chocolatey, but it is also quite potent. If you are sensitive to certain aromas, I suggest getting a sample before committing to a larger size.

Application

Although this mask is creamy, it takes a little effort to spread over the face. As such, I like to spritz on a bit of Josh Rosebrook's Hydrating Accelerator before applying an even layer over my skin. It is suggested that you allow this mask to dry for up to 45 minutes before rinsing with warm water. I know that 45 minutes seems like a long time, but if you can plan some chores, cook dinner, or watch your favorite tv show/movie while you are masking, it goes by in no time! Similar to a clay mask, you'll know when its ready to remove when the mask is completely dry and your skin feels warm and tingly.

Review of Josh Rosebrook's Cacao Antioxidant Mask

Ingredients

Vitamin Infused Water, *Cacao, *Witch Hazel, *Vinegar, *Almond Oil, †Marula Oil, *Baobab Oil, *Grape Seed Oil, *Rose Petal, *Turmeric, *Goji Berry, *Dandelion, *Eyebright, *Rosemary, *Ashwagandha, *Sage, *Beetroot, *Alfalfa, *Black Cohosh, *Raspberry Leaf, *Elderberry, *Chickweed, *Calendula, *Rose Hip, *Hawthorn Berry, *Ginkgo, *Cinnamon, *Marshmallow Root, *Bladderwrack, *Ginger, *Milk Thistle, *St. John's Wort, *Cat's Claw, *Licorice, *Lavender, *Fenugreek, †Orange Essential Oil, †Lavender Essential Oil, †Rosemary Essential Oil, †Calendula Essential Oil.

*Certified Organic

Wrap-up

What I like most about this mask is how healthy and balanced it makes my skin feel! With amazing ingredients and a luxuriously thick texture, you will adore this cacao-based concoction! I definitely recommend testing out a sample of this product if you are sensitive to certain scents because it is quite strong, especially when you first open the jar. I also suggest rinsing this mask off thoroughly because it will leave behind a residue otherwise.

This mask is so nourishing and effective that it will definitely remain a staple in my skincare collection!

Josh Rosebrook's Cacao Antioxidant Mask retails for $60 USD (1.5 oz).

Baobab

Have you heard of the Adansonia (baobab) tree? This beautiful tree is often referred to as "The Tree of Life" because its huge trunk can hold up to 100,000 liters of water, allowing it to produce nutrient-packed fruit throughout the driest of seasons. Due to its spidery, root-like arms, the baobab has also been dubbed the "upside down tree" and can grow close to 100 feet and live for more than 1,000 years.

Almost every part of the massive baobab tree can be utilized. The baobab's coconut-sized fruit are high in several vitamins and antioxidants, as well as Omega 6 and 9 fatty acids. Baobab seeds are rich in oil, calcium, phosphates and proteins; the pollen can be used for making glue; the fibers from the trunk can be made into paper and rope mats; the tender leaves are high in calcium and can be eaten like spinach; and tea and beer can be made from the bark.

Reviews of BAOBAB Organic Tea Tree & Mint Body Wash with Baobab Oil and BAOBAB Organic Lip Balm with Baobab Oil – Açai Berry or Double Mint

BAOBAB is a company that crafts organic products that protect, hydrate, and pamper the skin using baobab oil and other natural, plant-based ingredients. By choosing BAOBAB, you also become a part of the Happy Hands movement, which brings soap and hygiene education to schools in need.

BAOBAB Organic Lip Balm with Baobab Oil in Açai Berry

BAOBAB Organic Tea Tree & Mint Body Wash with Baobab Oil

Baobob oil is believed to improve skin's elasticity and help heal damaged skin. Since this oil is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and F, it beautifully restores the complexion and combats the early signs of aging. Because baobab oil is so easily absorbed into the skin, it doesn't clog pores or leave a greasy residue. Not to mention, tea tree oil eliminates fungus and bacteria, treats acne, and rejuvenates the skin.

Made with organic essential oils, this body wash smells so pure and invigorating! Its delicious, mint aroma makes you feel refreshed and super clean! The texture of this wash is smooth and silky, and it takes no time to develop a rich, luxe lather. I can't get enough of this viscous, moisturizing soap and neither can my husband! If you have had a difficult time finding unisex green alternatives, I highly recommend this emollient, buttery body wash!

BAOBAB Organic Lip Balm with Baobab Oil – Açai Berry or Double Mint

I am so smitten with these balms!! They are luxuriously creamy, moisturizing, organic, and smell divine! They leave my lips feeling hydrated and protected from the elements. I've also noticed that these balms help heal my dry, cracked lips incredibly well!

The Açai Berry balm has a sweet, fruity scent and the Double Mint is tingly and fresh!

With such amazing ingredients, don't be afraid to use these balms on your cuticles or other dry, irritated areas of skin that are also in need of some love and attention.

Review of Sheer Miracle Makeup

Mineral Eye Shadow

These shadows are so glamorous!! There are several colors to choose from and the pigmentation is on point! A little primer (check out my review of Alima Pure's new Eye Primer here) or even just some water and the vibrancy of these shadows comes to life! They are also very easy to blend!

Sheer Miracle Goddess Eye Shadow

Mineral Blush

These blushes are beautifully pigmented and blend effortlessly! I am currently obsessed with Sienna Rose which is a dusty, mauve-pink with a very subtle shimmer. It adds a very natural flush to the cheeks that compliments so many different looks!

Mineral Bronzer

As someone who is very fair, finding a flattering bronzer is not an easy task! They can often be too yellow or too red, but this one is perfectly balanced to create a healthy, sun-kissed glow.

Mineral Foundation

This foundation offers light, buildable coverage and looks quite natural when it is blended into the skin. It also works well on top of tinted moisturizers and liquid foundation when you are looking to add just a bit more coverage.
Makeup Tutorial using Sheer Miracle products

Wide Awake Dark Circle Concealer

This stuff is super brightening! Like woe!! It is a hard cream with an opaque, pastel pink hue that is meant to be applied to the inner third and outer corners of the eyes for an instant refreshed look. You only need the smallest amount of this stuff because it's ridiculously potent! I recommend patting it into the skin with your finger so that it will warm up a bit for optimal blending. I've tried it both underneath and on top of my foundation and either option looks great! Just be sure to set with a powder to ensure that this stuff doesn't budge throughout the day. Unfortunately, this product is limited to certain skin tones due to how light and pink it is.

Green Loose Mineral Color Correcting Concealer

I do not color correct very often, but this green powder is such a lovely shade for concealing redness. There is also a cream version of this corrector if you prefer not to mess with powders.

Extreme CloseUp HD High Definition Mineral Finishing Powder

This finishing powder is incredibly smooth and silky! The texture is so fine that it reminds me of baking soda. It imparts a natural, matte finish and provides a beautiful soft-focus effect.

**As a word of caution, some of Sheer Miracle's products do not come with sifters. Be careful when you attempt to dispense these powders because you really don't need much product to develop impactful color on the face. I suggest turning the dial so that it just barely allows product to escape; tap your desired amount of powder into the overturned lid; swirl your brush through the minerals; and then tap the brush against the side of the lid to remove any excess.**

Glamorous makeup tutorial using clean beauty products from Sheer Miracle

Here is an easy, glamorous look for the holidays using Sheer Miracle products! I first applied a base of Jane Iredale's Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream in Shade BB3. I set my foundation with the Extreme CloseUp HD High Definition Mineral Finishing Powder. I then used a fluffy brush to blend Sheer Miracle's Bronzer onto my temples, around my hairline, and lightly underneath my cheekbones. I then used a small amount of Sienna Rose Blush on the apples of my cheeks and highlighted the tops of cheekbones with Flesh Eyeshadow (this shadow is a beautiful nude pink!). For the eyes, I prepped for shadow with Alima Pure's new Eye Primer. Next, I applied Flesh all over my lids. I then blended Dirty Plum (I am obsessed with this color!) to the creases of each of my eyes using a fluffy shadow brush. It's key to blend these shadows together until you are left with a soft, diffused effect. I then went back in with a smaller brush to add Blossom to the center of each of my lids and finished up with a coat of my favorite mascara from Lily Lolo.

Overall, I am impressed with everything that I have tried from Sheer Miracle! The quality of their products is amazing, the ingredients are top notch, and their prices are affordable!

Review: Alima Pure Eye Primer

If you are a green beauty lover, you know that finding an amazing eye shadow primer isn't an easy task...the struggle is real! So when Alima Pure released a vegan Eye Primer packed with clean ingredients, you can imagine my excitement! This new primer prepares the eye area for creaseless, fade-proof eye makeup that stays saturated with color for hours of wear!

Review of Alima Pure Eye Primer

Consistency + Finish

What criteria need to be met for an eye primer to be worthy of a spot in your collection? For me, if a primer doesn't keep my shadow smooth and creaseless, it's not worth including in my collection. My secondary requirement is for the primer to help eye shadow really stick to the lids. Adhesion equates to lasting, rich color that doesn't budge! Finally, I think that eye primers should be moisturizing and comfortable. You certainly don't want your primer to be so sticky that it feels like you are smearing glue across your lids in a desperate attempt to achieve that flawless smokey eye!

With a silky, nourishing formula that creates the perfect canvas for blending and layering color, Alima Pure's new Eye Primer is bound to satisfy even your most demanding primer requirements! It really does tick all of the boxes for me. This cream is a pale, pinky-peach color that is nearly undetectable on the lids yet minimizes the appearance of fine lines and helps to even out the tone of the skin. This thin, lightweight primer also has a lot of slip, but isn't greasy or tacky.

Alima Pure's Eye Primer

Application

A little goes a long way with Alima Pure's Eye Primer, so all you have to do is smooth a tiny amount onto your lids with clean fingertips and wait about a minute until it is fully absorbed.

Alima Pure Eye Primer

Wrap-Up

This eye primer is pretty close to perfect! In addition to preparing the skin for long-lasting eye makeup, this base nourishes the delicate skin in the eye area thanks to amazing natural ingredients like olive-derived squalane, shea butter, and clary sage water. Shadow remains saturated and creaseless throughout hours of wear. I densely packed shadow on my lids to put this primer to the test and my look survived a busy day that included a trip to the gym and a holiday party without any signs of creasing or fading. My lids also felt comfortable and nicely moisturized. I do have quite dry skin, so I'm not sure how this primer will fare on combo or oily skin, but I'm confident that you will love it no matter what your skin type!

My one complaint about this product is that the tube is TINY! You only need a small about, but once you try it, you are going to want an endless supply of this stuff! It's wonderful!

Alima Pure's Eye Primer retails for $26 USD for 10 ml / 0.33 fl. oz.

Review: 100% Pure Cocoa Butter Semi-Matte Lipstick

If you are a fan of 100% Pure, you probably noticed that they recently released a line of Cocoa Butter Semi-Matte Lipsticks. With eleven shades to choose from, you will love the intense color payoff of these all-natural, super pigmented lippies!

Review of 100% Pure's Cocoa Butter Semi-Matte Lipsticks

Consistency + Finish

Similar to the buttery, nourishing formulation of 100% Pure's Fruit Pigmented Pomegranate Oil Anti Aging Lipsticks, the new semi-matte lineup is equally divine! Not only are they luxuriously creamy, but they are moisturizing without feeling heavy or greasy on the lips. As their name implies, these lipsticks are definitely semi-matte. If you are in the market for a truly matte lip, you will be disappointed by the velvety sheen of these lipsticks. However, their semi-matte finish makes them very comfortable on the lips and the added bit of moisture means that you don't have to worry about them cracking throughout the day. If you were to add some powder on top of one of 100% Pure's Fruit Pigmented Pomegranate Oil Anti Aging Lipsticks, you would be left with a look and feel that is comparable to the new semi-mattes. While they are drier than their pomegranate oil sisters, their longevity is just as amazing!

100% Pure's Cocoa Butter Semi-Matte Lipstick in Pink Canyon

Application

Because these lipsticks are so buttery, they glide on with ease straight from their bullets! I enjoy using a lip scrub (I like this one from Treat Beauty) to polish my pout prior to applying any lip color so that my lips are smooth, plump, and good to go! I also recommend using a lip liner with all of 100% Pure's lipsticks because they do tend to bleed slightly. My favorite lip pencils are from Jane Iredale and the shade Spice goes perfectly with Pink Canyon from 100% Pure to create a beautiful, earthy, rose pink.

Note: These lipsticks are vegan!

100% Pure's Cocoa Butter Semi-Matte Lipstick in Pink Canyon

Wrap-Up

These lipsticks are so gorgeous and buttery! Packed with clean, nourishing ingredients, these high-quality semi-mattes are silky, moisturizing, and very comfortable to wear. The consistency of these seriously pigmented lippies is smooth and velvety, yet they feel weightless on the lips. They also last for hours! However, I have to admit that I can't quite justify having "semi-matte" lipsticks in my collection. Any lipstick can be made semi-matte by adding a touch of powder on top; therefore, true satins and true mattes hold more value to me. That doesn't diminish the fact that these lipsticks are amazing, I would just prefer a completely matte finish to accompany 100% Pure's beautiful pomegranate lineup.

100% Pure's Cocoa Butter Semi-Matte Lipsticks retail for $29 USD for 0.15 oz/ 4.5 g.

Review: Holistic Green Beauty's Orchid Cellular Protection Oil

I recently raved about Holistic Green Beauty's gorgeous Chocolate Cleansing Balm (review here), but it definitely isn't the only must-have in this brand's portfolio! The Orchid Cellular Protection Oil is an ultra hydrating anti-ageing skincare oil that enriches the skin with organic botanicals. With such dry skin, this oil is bound to be an absolute life-saver throughout the cold, winter months.

Review of Holistic Green Beauty's Orchid Cellular Protection Oil

Description

This exquisite oil helps to lock in moisture, combat dehydration, and eliminate fine lines and wrinkles. This oil is thin, but has a luxuriously silky texture that really plumps and softens the skin. Unlike oils that can be a bit greasy and heavy, this product glides onto the skin and absorbs completely within five to ten minutes.

In addition to its luxurious consistency and pleasant, floral scent, this oil is made with so many amazing ingredients! With an array of antioxidants and fatty acids, this oil truly nourishes the skin at the cellular level. In particular, Orchid extract has regenerative properties and is rich in skin-loving minerals, while Chia Seed and Baobab aid in the prevention of wrinkles and restore elasticity. Calendula and Copaiba are also added for their anti-inflammatory benefits to soothe and condition the skin while enhancing its natural radiance.

Application

In the morning, I like to apply this oil in gentle, circular motions after cleansing and toning, but before moisturizing. This allows the product to absorb nicely into my skin and provide a proper canvas for any makeup that I may wear. At night, however, I massage this oil into my skin after my moisturizer to create an occlusive layer that locks in moisture and seals in everything I’ve applied beneath it. You may need to experiment to figure out the order of application that works best for you, but you'll probably want to apply it underneath your moisturizer if you have particularly oily skin.

Review: RMS Beauty Magic Luminizer

RMS Beauty's portfolio of gorgeous cream highlighters is perhaps the best in the business. The newest addition to the line, Magic Luminizer, is an iridescent champagne illuminator that imparts a beautiful, ethereal glow!

Review of RMS Beauty's Magic Luminizer

Finish

This coconut oil-based highlighter has the signature silky texture of all of RMS's products. Its beautiful, opalescent, champagne hue is more warm-toned than Living Luminizer (for more info, check out my post here), yet neutral enough that it looks stunning on a variety of skin tones. There is also a subtle nude pink shimmer that provides a flattering highlight that never comes off as glittery or chunky on the skin.

Master Mixer (left), Magic Luminizer (middle), & Living Luminizer (right)

Application

I like to use my fingers to blend this highlighter onto the tops of my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose to create a soft, diffused glow. Its silky texture allows Magic Luminizer to melt flawlessly into the skin with very little effort. RMS has also just released a Kabuki Polisher Retractable Brush if you prefer buffing this highlight onto the skin for a high-impact, lustrous sheen. If you are really looking for an allover glow, you can apply this product underneath or mixed in with your foundation for a beautiful lit-from-within radiance.

Review: Odacité's Serum Concentrates

Odacité's entire line of serum concentrates has completely won my heart! As an engineer, I find Odacité's alchemy-based marketing and Table of Pure Elements to be absolute genius! Each luxurious serum falls into a specific category that is targeted at addressing one of six primary concerns: Anti-aging; Hydration; Firmness; Sensitivity; Devitalization; and Oiliness. I love mixing and matching these serums to create my perfect, tailored routine!

Review of Odacité's Serum Concentrates

Odacité's serum concentrates work beautifully on their own or mixed in with other products. 2-3 drops is all you need to unleash the magic of these gorgeous blends! Crafted from precious extracts and oils, the exceptional quality of these serums is evident the second you open one of their petite dropper bottles and can enjoy their lovely, pure scents! They also absorb perfectly into the skin without leaving any sort of residue.

Odacité's Jojoba Lavender Serum Concentrate falls into the Oily/Combo category. Specifically, this transformative serum binds to sebum blockages and skin impurities to help flush out pores and minimize breakouts. YOU NEED THIS SERUM IN YOUR LIFE!!! It is like flawless skin insurance in a bottle! The combination of jojoba and lavender helps decongest pores and restore balance to the skin. Not to mention, lavender has amazing antibacterial properties that help gently fight off the microorganisms that lead to breakouts. Love it!

Odacité's Jojoba Lavender Serum Concentrate

Wild Carrot and Acai Rose are both part of Odacité’s Anti-aging category of serums that are meant to provide the skin with a radiant, youthful glow. In addition to revitalizing dull, lifeless skin, I find that these serums are quite balancing. They give my skin just the right amount of hydration without clogging my pores. I like to add two drops of these precious, antioxidant-packed potions to my morning moisturizer or by themselves on the days that my skin needs an extra boost to achieve that natural, healthy glow!

Prices range from $32 to $55 USD for 5 ml (0.17 oz). As you may have guessed, the Anti-aging treatments are the most expensive, while the serums for oily/congested skin are the most affordable. Yes, these serums are not cheap and the bottles are tiny! I suggest getting a bunch of samples to figure out which serums target the specific needs of your skin. I keep the Jojoba Lavender Serum Concentrate ($32) around at all times and then swap in one of the more costly concentrates based on the current mood of my skin. Other than the cost, my one complaint is that the dark bottles make it difficult to determine how much product you have left. Each bottle is supposed to last for about a month and you can roughly estimate the amount of product that you have based on what will fit in the dropper. However, there is always more in the bottle than the dropper will capture, so make sure to tip the bottles and give them a shake to get every last drop of these precious serums!

I am such an advocate for Odacité's Serum Concentrates and I know that so many of you will fall in love with them! They are truly key to the health and beauty of my skin!

Review: Holistic Green Beauty's Chocolate Cleansing Balm

Three words...Chocolate Cleansing Balm. Need I say more? As someone who is instantly drawn to products with naturally sweet scents that sound delicious and dessert-like, it's no surprise that Holistic Green Beauty's luxe balm has made its way into my skincare routine. Packed with Mafura butter, an ingredient made from the seeds of the Trichilia emetica tree which thrives in Eastern Africa, this indulgent cleanser is deeply nourishing and healing. After testing out this balm, I quickly noticed how soft and smooth my skin felt. I previously posted about how much I enjoy The Honey Mud from May Lindstrom. I have been alternating between The Honey Mud and this Chocolate Cleansing Balm, and I couldn't be happier with my glowing, hydrated skin.

Review of Holistic Green Beauty's Chocolate Cleansing Balm

Description

This cleansing balm is thin, but has a rich, velvety texture that feels like silk on the skin. Unlike the pudding-like texture of The Honey Mud, this product is like a balmy chocolate mousse. It is also quite buttery and melts beautifully with the warmth of the skin. You may actually want to store it in the refrigerator if you reside in a particularly warm climate.

Aside from its luxurious consistency and how it gently removes makeup and impurities without stripping the skin of its natural oils, this balm emulsifies with water to create a nourishing chocolate milk! Made with wonderful, nutritious ingredients, this balm infuses the skin with antioxidant rich green tea, cacao extract, rosehip oil and açaí berry oil to help combat impurities and toxins. Calendula and Copaiba essential oils are also added for the anti-inflammatory benefits to soothe and condition the skin while enhancing its natural radiance. Not to mention, the deliciously sweet scent has notes of chocolate and vanilla.

Application

Massaging this sumptuous cleanser into the skin is an experience! Much like the guilty pleasure of indulging in a rich piece of your favorite cake, this balm is the skincare version of a chocolate high. To cleanse, I dampen my face with a bit of warm water before massaging a dime-sized amount of balm into my skin using upward, circular motions. I then rinse with warm water and pat my face dry. Holistic Green Beauty also supplies an organic muslin cloth with this balm that is perfect for lifting away dead skin cells and gently exfoliating my skin.

Ingredients

Trichilia Emetica (Mafura) Seed Butter**, Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter*, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Glycerin*, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Almond) Seed Oil*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Fruit Oil*, Copaifera Officinalis (Copaiba) Resin**, Sucrose Laurate, Theobroma Cacao Seed Powder*, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Water*, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil*, Euterpe Oleracea (Açaí) Fruit Oil, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract*, Calendula Officinalis (Marigold) Flower Extract*, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract*, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract*, Tocopherol

Wrap-up

This balm is such an indulgent treat for my skin! The scent is decadently sweet and the texture is so silky that it really is like applying a luxe, perfectly whipped chocolate mousse to your face. While it does a great job breaking down makeup and clearing my pores, I have noticed that this product will leave behind a residue if I do not rinse it off thoroughly. This doesn't seem to irritate my skin at all, but it may be an issue if you have particularly sensitive skin.

As the perfect compliment to The Honey Mud, this balm is so lush! My skin is radiant, silky-smooth, and in the best condition that it ever has been! This balm helps to balance my dry skin and works beautifully with the other products in my skincare rotation. The Chocolate Cleansing Balm retails for $69 USD (3.38 fl. oz., 100 ml).

Review: Kjaer Weis Lipstick

Kjaer Weis's stunning packaging is such a signature of this luxury green beauty brand and the new line of Lipsticks is certainly no exception! Made of white bronze, these chic, refillable bullets are both sturdy and sustainable. Unfortunately, they are also quite pricey! At $56 for 0.15 oz. (4.25 g) of product, these lipsticks are an investment. Kjaer Weis Lipstick Refills can be purchased for the reduced price of $36.

Review of Kjaer Weis Lipstick

Kjaer Weis Lipstick

Consistency + Finish

The formulation of these lipsticks is divine! Not only are they creamy, but the pigmentation is stunning! The texture is buttery, but not too soft, and they melt onto the lips with perfect opacity. I would say that the finish is semi-matte with a slight sheen. Packed with nourishing ingredients such as beeswax, jojoba seed oil, sweet almond oil, and rosa rubiginosa seed oil, these lippes are also incredibly moisturizing, but don't feel heavy or greasy on the lips. I love that their consistency is so smooth and velvety, yet they manage to feel weightless and lasts for hours. The addition of lemon peel oil also gives these lipsticks a lovely citrus scent.

Kjaer Weis Lipstick and Refills

Kjaer Weis Lipstick

Application

Because these lipsticks are so silky, they glide on beautifully! I enjoy using a lip scrub (I like this one from Treat Beauty) to polish my pout prior to applying lipstick so that my lips are smooth, plump, and good to go! I apply these gorgeous hues straight from their respective bullets, but you could also easily use a lip brush.

Wrap-Up

These lipsticks are gorgeous! Packed with clean, nourishing ingredients, these high-quality lipsticks are silky and moisturizing. The color range currently consists of just five hues, but they are all quite classic and should suit a variety of skin tones. I have Honor, a rich, nude pink, and Empower, a cool-toned hot pink. I love that the consistency of these seriously pigmented lippies is so smooth and velvety, yet feels weightless. They also last for hours! While I adore Kjaer Weis's characteristic refillable packaging, my one complaint about these lipsticks is that the tubes are a bit bulky. However, they do have a nice weight to them and protect the product nicely when you're on the go!

These lipsticks are definitely going to become staples in my green beauty arsenal and I can't wait for more colors to be released!
